How do I start networking and meeting people with facebook?

I have a myspace and have friends on it but just got the facebook. However, how do I start adding people from my school without looking like a creep and then run into them on campus. I do want to meet new people but I dont know too many people at my school. I just don't want to add random people. Transferring to my university from JC makes it harder. I graduated h.s. in 01, before all this social networking craze and not too many people my graduting year are on them. The people I actually talk to in class or at school are not on facebook.

dont worry too much about adding people you dont know from you school. the people that worry about creepy people hide their profile, and most people are willing to friend you just because you ae from their school.

if you know one person at your school on facebook, then ask to meet their friends, and then you can add them, and its endless. also, check out people in your class, add your classes to your profile and you can see who is also on facebook from there
excellent for looking for a study buddy in a class (or looking for an excuse to make a friend)
